The nine family physicians at Arbour Family Medical Centre are dedicated to caring for the health of the Guelph community.
Dr. Shira Thomas | Book An Appointment Online
Dr. Shira Thomas has been a family physician since 1997. She went to McMaster Medical School and completed her residency at University of Toronto (at Toronto East General Hospital). She worked in Toronto for 7 years and has been a Family Physician in Guelph for the last 13 years.
She has done obstetrics, has worked as an emergency physician & has taken care of the newborns at GGH. She is a proud long time supporter of many international charities, including Medecines Sans Frontiers (Doctors without Borders), War Child, UNICEF and SOS Children's Villages.
Dr. Thomas loves being a family doctor and taking care of her patients. She also enjoys passing on her love of medicine by teaching medical students from universities across Canada and has recently become an Adjunct Associate Clinical Professor at McMaster University.
Her most important role, with her husband George, is raising three intelligent, strong, beautiful and resourceful daughters.
Dr. Anna Kizior-Hajduk | Book An Appointment Online
Dr. Anna Kizior-Hajduk graduated from the Medical University of Lodz in Poland with a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1985, and continued with her postgraduate medical training in pediatrics. Dr. Kizior-Hajduk started her professional career at the Pediatric Institute in Lodz, providing comprehensive medical care for inpatients and outpatients.
After completing her postgraduate medical training in Family Medicine at the University of Manitoba, she moved to Ontario and joined Arbour Family Medical Centre in 2004. Dr. Kizior-Hajduk is married and she has two children. She enjoys outdoor activities and time together with her family and friends.
Dr. Krista St. Amant | Book An Appointment Online
Originally from Northern Ontario, Dr. Krista St. Amant moved to Toronto to complete her Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology/Zoology at the University of Toronto. She then graduated from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine in 2010 and completed her Family Medicine Residency at the University of Toronto in 2012. She practiced at Credit Valley Hospital prior to joining the Arbour Family Medical team.
Dr. St. Amant has lived in the Guelph area since 2013 with her husband, three children and two dogs. Family has always been incredibly important to Dr. St. Amant as she comes from a large extended family that she visits as often as possible. She was inspired to become a doctor as a teenage when her brother was in the hospital for an Extended period of time.
In her spare time, she loves to crochet, read, and bake.
Dr. Gabriel Ting | Book An Appointment Online
Dr. Ting graduated from the University of Alberta Medical School in 2000. He completed his residency in Rural and Remote Family Medicine in 2002 through McMaster University.
Since then he has practiced in Georgetown, Ontario and Shanghai, China before settling into Guelph and the Arbour Family Medical Centre.
Dr. Trudy MacLean | Book An Appointment Online
Dr. Trudy MacLean, originally from the Maritimes, found her way to Guelph in 2013, after completing her Family Medicine Residency at Dalhousie University, in Halifax.
Prior to her residency, Dr. MacLean completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology/Chemistry at Wilfred Laurier University (Waterloo, ON; 2004), her Masters in Medical Science at McMaster University (Hamilton, ON; 2006) and her Medical Degree at Dalhousie University (Halifax, NS; 2010)
Dr. MacLean started her comprehensive Family Practice at Arbour Medical Center in 2014. When not working, Dr. MacLean can be found travelling, cooking or enjoying the outdoors with her Husband and 2 young children.
Dr. Julie Chaytor | Book An Appointment Online
Dr. Julie Chaytor grew up in Newfoundland and Labrador, where she completed her Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Music Education degrees. She then moved to Ontario to attend medical school at McMaster University’s Niagara campus. In 2015 she moved to Guelph to complete her residency training in Family Medicine, also through McMaster.
Dr. Chaytor lives with her husband and two young children. She enjoys music, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Urooj Chaudry | Book An Appointment Online
Dr. Urooj Chaudry was raised in Kitchener-Waterloo, and has proudly called Guelph home since 2010. She has previously worked in London, and Kitchener-Waterloo.
Dr. Chaudry completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and Molecular Biology at the University of Waterloo in 2010. Following that, she graduated from the University of Calgary Medical School in 2013, and returned homeward to complete her Family Medicine Residency at McMaster’s Kitchener-Waterloo Campus in 2015. She has previously taught medical learners such as medical students and resident physicians, and from time to time may host learners at Arbour Family Medical Centre.
She lives with her daughter and dog. In her leisure time, Dr. Chaudry enjoys sewing, gardening, dog training, and hiking with her family.
Dr. Chaudry is a strong proponent of living well through healthy eating, good sleeping habits and leading an active lifestyle!
