Mental Health Care During COVID-19
Please read this message from our medical centre about how our office is responding to ensure patient safety in response to COVID, Colds, Flu.
Dear Patient of Arbour Family Medical Centre,
Due to the current COVID, Cold, Flu situation, we continue to make temporary changes in the way we deliver your care. Our goal is to minimize potential exposure to as many people as possible while freeing up resources to attend to those who require urgent care.
Our telephones are extremely busy, we are doing our very best to answer your call. During early morning busier times, our lines may not be able to take your call. You may receive a message that we are currently unavailable, or a busy signal. Rest assured, we are still here taking calls, but our phone system is at capacity.
Patients have the option to book an in-person appointment online or by calling the office.
Additionally, we are continuously reviewing our schedules to allow for visits that are of a more urgent nature.
In order to help reduce the spread of COVID, Cold, Flu, & Strep - we ask for your help.
We will provide you with a new medical mask, and we ask that you put it on before you enter the exam area for your appointment.
If you have respiratory symptoms (cough, fever, runny nose, sore throat, difficulty breathing), we ask that you do not enter the building without a mask.
As a community, our responsibility at this time is to minimize the viral spread of COVID, colds, flu and the impending impact on our healthcare system. If you are able to delay your elective medical appointments, we urge you to do so. We also ask that you do not attend the EMERGENCY ROOM unless it is a clear EMERGENCY. There are after hours evening and weekend clinics to assist in your care for these illnesses.
In regards to your greater social obligations - we suggest you wash your hands regularly and continue to wear your mask in public. Please reconsider attending large public venues, events and travelling. The more successful we are at continued masking and social distancing, the best chance we have at minimizing the impact.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this. These changes will be regularly assessed and are in place until further notice.
